Hello and welcome! I am Will Sherwood, a PhD candidate at the University of Glasgow and The Tolkien Society’s Education Secretary. As you may have guessed, my research is on the works of J.R.R. Tolkien and British Romanticism. In particular, I am interested in how Romanticism shaped the stories of Middle-earth and their adaptations, and in so doing became key sites for the evolution of Romanticism’s legacies in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.
On my website you will find updates on my research, edited books and articles, talks and lectures, media appearances, and broader musings on multimedia forms of Fantasy and Romanticism.
